Interesting piece here. But I disagree, naturally. I'm a Christian and I do not hate gay people. But I do disagree with their way of life because their lifestyle goes against God. And as for the Constitution, it was written by a group of Godly men who wanted to have a Godly nation. And if it wasn't for them you wouldn't be living in a 'free' country, neither would the gays. Any nation that allows Sodomy to run free will be punished greatly. Read about Sodom and Gamora sometime. I'm not saying that we should hate gays or that they should be killed or anything like that. But they should not be allowed to marry. It goes against everything that God says. Peace out and God bless.

Hey... i enjoyed reading this essay thingie...i have to agree with you on this...i think that the gay population should have the same freedoms as the striaght population after all Gays are people are they not. they are citizens of america, the land of the free. i am not personally gay but i know a fair few people who are..

Brilliant line. Seriously. That being said, I like what you have to say very much,however, "being neither religious nor same-sex orientated" doesn't mean your impartial. I, myself, am also not religious, and am straight, but I am quite positive I have my biases on the topic.

an issue so heatedly debated in our lovely FREE country of the United States. I just wish more people would over come what they were taught and stand up for what is right... I'm happy you had a voice to do so.

I feel so happy! What you've written so perfectly describes every detail I try to debate on the issue. I know many homosexual people and I know that the issue hurts them deeply...which is why it frustrates me that some people are willing to take 'under God' out of the pledge but are not allowing gay marriages. Hopefully this will help open others eyes. It was very well written and greatly appreciated.

OK don't bite heads off. Yeha I see yoru point you really should tryto get this peace into higher places then fictionpress. You are right, religion should not mix with laws. Nice point-proving-power.
