Reviews For: The Scream

Wow, very powerful. Wow. Words to descrive this piece have escaped me. Honestly, wow. I love the part with the screaming--extremely powerful, I could almost feel the words. Very, very strange. I'll admit that I normally would not recommend writing in this particular point of view, it's hard for the reader to believe that they are experiencing what you are telling them. However, I thought that this story was executed amazingly, and the mastery of this POV definitely shows your skills as a writer. I am still a little confused. What was wrong with this person's mind? I loved the mystery but it felt very inconclusive at the end. It seemed unfinished. Other than that, I am so amazed by the power and proficiency you demonstrate as a writer--I'm extremely impressed. I look forward with great anticipation to reading more of your work!

I really liked it, even if it took a bit of time to get used to the way it's written and set up. The tale itself is ambiguous, more a series of images and ideas than a fully cohesive narrative, but it's engaging despite (perhaps because of) that lack of explanation or resolution.
I would have loved to had the subject explored a bit more before the move to the main character's mind, as it seems too jarring, and a bit too much of a set-up. Visit another mind or something. It would have been interesting, but as it is the story works as a short, beautiful, somewhat disturbing piece. Quite lovely.
