Leigh Hunt 2004-11-27 . chapter 7
Yes. Prohibition must stop so that corporations would take over production, distribution and sale of marijuana, thus making it available to everyone. The price will drop and everyone will start smoking it, thus being almost perpetually high and addicted, this way corporations then can increase the price of marijuana and lovers and addicts of the drug will pour our their coffers. Further other drugs can be legalized after marijuana to put large percentage of the public into virtual addiction, after that corporations which are controlled by the elite can control the price, amount etc. and completely dictate a major portion of the public.

Great idea Idiot.
John Stein PhD 2004-11-02 . chapter 7
"Even politicians like Al Gore have admitted to smoking pot."

Yeah! Doing something illegal and having no regrets is okay (as long as it's for politicians like Gore, of course)!

However, doing something illegal and regretting it makes a certain politician an **! If you did something illegal twenty years ago and regret it now, you shouldnt be allowed in office (like G.W.B)!
Forest Passant 2004-10-30 . chapter 9
Okay, now I gotta respond to other reviewers.
Newbia: You think junk food should be banned? Holy-freakin'-God...
Voronwe: I completely agree with her, and I swear to you on--well--whatever, I've never touched pot in my life. Kinda like, I'm an advocate for gay marriage, and I'm straight... you can support a cause without it directly pertaining to you.
Forest Passant 2004-10-30 . chapter 10
Yes, Officer Friendly is here to help you. Good essay. alternet.org--must remember that. I quite agree.
Voronwe 2004-10-24 . chapter 7
You make it sound like the ban against marijuana is the root of all our country's problems.
"Besides that, fifty-five percent of the people serving time for drug offenses are African-American." How the hell does that make a point, or how is it even relevant?
All in all, Shannon, I gotta ask you one question: who is your dealer? He must give you good stuff, if you really think legalizing marijuana is going to help our society.

John Stein PhD 2004-10-24 . chapter 1
Judging by your "Public School System" essay, and the quality of this one, I doubt you've ever set foot in an English classroom.

"Hemp paper would last longer, as paper made from trees has acid."

The papers I use dont need to last very long. Even if I need to keep them for a whole school year, they last in perfect condition.

By the way, you might not want to cite cannabis.com, and books like "pot planet" and "stupid white men". Too biased toward your cause. For all the pros they list, they might leave out a thousand cons.
NewbiaTheElf 2004-10-23 . chapter 6
Well, just because it's addictive doesn't mean people won't do it regularly. Junk food isn't addictive, but people still eat that more than is healthy because they really like it. They just won't go through horrid withdrawel if they quit eating it. Marijuana should be legal for medical purposes, but why would it be legal just so people could enjoy it? The fact it's not as bad as drinking, smoking, or eating junk food only means we should make those against the law as well. But they're so popular it would cause a huge uproar and fail miserabely.
NewbiaTheElf 2004-10-23 . chapter 5
Why would the government create a war against drugs? Try and explain their motives.
Also,"it's stupid that you can do BLA but you can't do BLA BLA," is the worst argument for anything. Say that you were allowed to kill people, but not punch them. Obviously, this is a stupid, unfair rule. Does that mean that we should make both punching and killing people legal? No, you would make both of them illegal.
NewbiaTheElf 2004-10-23 . chapter 2
Yeah, you have a point. However, you can't deny that marijuana, even if it doesn't cause brain damage, still inhibits your jugdement.
NewbiaTheElf 2004-10-23 . chapter 1
This is a very good argument for hemp, but not for marijuana. I'm not sure if hemp is even illegal. If it is, then why?
Tiefling 2004-08-21 . chapter 1
An interesting read. Looks like you've posted this in poetry format instead of story format. You might want to fix that.
'Cannabis plants are one of the few plants with definite genders.'
This is just a pet hate of mine, but it's sex, not gender. Gender is a sociological term, not a biological one.
'Marijuana is the female, and hemp is the male.' Really? Now I'm intrigued, must read up on the subject.
'Hemp would be a great economic tool. It has many uses...'
Those are good arguments for the growing of the kind of hemp plant with a low THC content, but not for the kind you can smoke. Just playing devil's advocate here, I'd love to see it all legalised.
'America is running out of trees.'
Really? Don't they make paper from plantation forests?
'Hemp paper would last longer, as paper made from trees has acid'
You can get acid free paper made from trees, but hemp might be more cost effective.
MrFlames 2004-08-19 . chapter 6
"Correct me if I'm wrong, but the United States gives Americans the rights of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness"
You're wrong.
Voronwe 2004-08-18 . chapter 6
Wow. Okay...I'm gonna jump around.
First off, do you really expect anyone to buy your disclaimer? Your push for the legalization of marajuana is far too intense for you to not be an avid pot smoker.
Secondly, you really shouldn't repeatedly cite drug sites (Cannabis.com, 420.com), as these sites are heavily biased and should not be taken as the whole truth.
For example: "No death has ever been directly linked to pot." What? Are kidding? Pot has been known to cause loads of car accidents, from people too stoned to know what the hell is going on.
Lastly: " I now have another argument stating why marijuana should be legal. Our constitution basically gives people the right to smoke pot. ". Wow. If you can prove that the authors of the US Constitution intended it to be used as a pro for drug use, then I'll eat my hat.
That's pretty much it. This had to be one of the most pointless things I've ever read, and it is sort of the same thing as your "Legalize Drugs" essay, so there wasn't much point in writing that either.

I find this really interesting. Thanks for taking the time to research this! *bows* You are rather good at writing essays.
Mbwun 2004-07-07 . chapter 1
Very informative, but I'm not sure what the point is. I didn't know what bit about beads in the 'emergency' kit. Kinda funny.
