I really like this story! The "Pandora's Box" theme played out in a Japanese setting was very nicely done, but not overdone. I can see what you meant about recurring themes like spirits and greed, because this read like folklore to me. And even though it was short, I really felt bad for Yusochi. If you ever write any other short stories like this, I would love to read them!
