I like the voice you chose to use in this poem -- very effective. One thing, though, "pretention" isn't a word (according to dictionary.com.) Do you mean "pretense", as in "the act of pretending" or "the quality or state of being pretentious"? Okay, apart from that one thing, very nice poem. It's got a fresh, original flavor to it.
