Wow, I like it! The trick with the Magna Carta was awesome.
While the first couple of chapters were sort of slow, it was good to get the characters introduced, now we're moving into action of a sort. The only criticism I have is of this line: Kali suddenly smiled at the young priest, her normally very serious and aloof face lighting up with the action.
I don't think the word action fits wtih the flow of the sentence. If you revise, you might consider rewording.

Ooh, I like this! It rings true, so much. Kali is still a bit of a mystery to us, but I see you're setting up a divisive plotline -- Father Dante vs. Kali & Carver. I look forward to the next chapter!

That's a pretty interesting beginning! A good set up, lets us know what to expect along the way.
