EternalSummer 2/14/05 . chapter 1This poem was excellent! I wouldn't call it fluff... many lines are very meaningful and deep, and have too much melancholy infused in them to be such. My favorite part was "For I write many things/ And none of them mean anything/ To you.../ But they are life to me." This is so very true, and is a theme that I have been attempting to work into some of my poetry, but I haven't succeeded as you have. Your statements seem deceptively simple, but there is so much meaning latent behing each carefully chosen word. I love the overall message of the poem, and it is certainly good advice for poets. The best part about the piece is that you read it, think about it, and realize, "Wow, that is so true." Your simply stated style works perfectly for the poem. I normally prefer poetry that has more imagery and complex diction, but I doubt it would have worked in this poem. So, great job! Toodles! -EternalSummer |
Definitively BadBADbad 9/23/04 . chapter 1 The second stanza made the eyelids flutter open in surprise for the merest second. Commendable. The rest makes one wonder.. whether or not the words fell out of the author's slippery hands.. and shatter on the floor. |
