Aww, that's sweet. You're girlfriend must be very lucky to have a guy who'll write her poems/songs . _ I like this poem/song a lot, it sounds like the "I" persona is feeling this freedom and contentment for either the first time, or the first time that it really matters.

It's such a sweet, hopeful poem with that bit of melancholy lingering under it with the metion of sin and shame etc. Beautiful, though I think if you wanted to, you could draw out the emotion and the feeling. All the same, it's touching.
