QianYun 2005-07-22 ch 1, anon.	abusePersonally, I don't think that this is a one-shot in the normal sense of the word. One-shots tend to dictate certain moments, certain events, certain emotions. Now, certainly, there were certain emotions in here, but by far, this was more than just certain moments. This was a certain life. Two lives, to be exact. It was great reading this, the continual shifts of time. Instead of creating confusion, there was an image being painted of their lives. The little snippets, the flashbacks of seven years prior, of fourteen years prior really filled out the characters. So by the time I got to the end, I felt like I really knew who Charles and Sean were. Sure, I didn't know the little details, and most likely changes in their lives. But this story was about them and the information that I needed about them were all here. So anyway, the point of this review is to tell you that I really liked this. It had a different feel to it, in a good way. Great job in creating Charles and Sean, I'm gonna go toddle off and check out your other work now.

In fact, I really loved the way you jumped back and forth, past to present (and the tense shifts, as well), and the incorporation of flashbacks at just the perfect time. And the theme of sevens was intriguing, of course. And the characters, too… And, well…and everything, really. . I'd make this review a bit longer and more interesting (read: undeniably irritating and dull), but everything about this was great, and I'm a bit blown away, at the moment... So, yes, keep writing these awesome pieces. And update Christian Faith, too ;-)
