Poor you. I know there is a lot of racism in the world but ouch, it must hurt. Thankfully I've never experienced it before.
Just wondering, can you speak Chinese? Because i've found out that language can overcome the colour barrier. I look Asian but my English accent is totally kiwi (New Zealander) so the kiwis accept me as one of them while the asian people accept me of one of them also since I can speak mandarin fluently too.
Anyways, enough of my ranting. Good essay.

I appreciate this essay for its frankness. Sad to say, many people feel uncomfortable with a "colourblind" world. As a kid, I supposed that different races meant different personalities. Sad to say, I was very childish then. I now believe that all humans share the same hopes and fears. I have been treated like an outsider before, so I can understand the pain.

Very interesting look at San Franciso schools. You guys really have a problem if that's going on. It sounds pretty bad, and I was a bit puzzled at first why you said you were only caucasian, but I see why now. Personally, I'd probably do the same thing. I think most people would think you're just trying to be unique, but this just shows that is not always the reason.
good writing.

PS Don't give up on a colourblind world yet. Not yet.

nice essay. i live in a primarily Caucasian suburb (i'm Asian myself), but many of my HS classes are predominately Asian. there are a lot of parallels between this essay & my life.
one note: 'click' is s'posed to be 'clique' =P
cheers,

Great! It's really strong and has a powerful message. The only thing wrong with it is the spelling of "click2 should be "clique" (I think!).
