ch 1,
Trusted
She believed in him, and implicitly,
Trusted him, gave her faith completely,(Faith is not to be given, it is to be shared, for when you give your faith away, you have none for yourself, if you share your faith, there is faith for two)
Unto a man who was a destroyer of hearts and worlds.
(A man destroys hearts and worlds, for there should be only one heart , one world, "ours")
In innocence the keys to the heart are given blindly,(Why do we keep locks on hearts, as to have keys?)
Without a thought given to consequence, even fleetingly, (Give no thought to consequence, and there shall be none)
No consideration, no calculation or reasoning logically,
To recognize the peril she was placing,
Herself, heart and mind into, her surrendering, thoughtlessly.
The keys are caught, and the doors opened rudely
Wrenched asunder with shocking, unexpected cruelty( Crueler than locking away hearts and worlds?)
Exposing everything and abolishing her chastity. (Chastity can be crueler than locked doors)
She believed in him, and implicitly,
Trusted him, gave her faith completely,
Unto a man who was a destroyer of hearts and worlds. (It is not destruction as much as it is Deconstruction for the creation of even greater things, such as new life)
Not comprehending, she has no understanding,
Of why he'd become something,
So different from what she saw in the beginning, (He remained the same as before, it was her that was changed, her innocence traded for new site)
She had been blind then to the horns that were holding up the halo. (See now, the horns were there all along, yet she claims that he changed? No, it is her who is made wiser with a gift of site)
A trust betrayed shows the truth in colours lively,
A truth from her nightmares and news reports daily,
Of abuse, one of a toxic love so deadly.
She believed in him, and implicitly,
Trusted him, gave her faith completely,
Unto a man who was a destroyer of hearts and worlds. ( She says believed, Trusted, Gave, all in the past tense and then equates this with him as "was" a destroyer, what says her now, that he is?)
So much for that trust, she'd watched it falling,
Into a blackness, to shatter on the bottom far below,
Thrown by the hand of the tormentor, and her dreams are dying,
Dreams of innocence lost, of before what is now, (innocence traded for wisdom)
A world where trust could be unabused, and thriving. (Trust is the enslavement of ones will over another, Trust only Love)
She believed in him, and implicitly,
Trusted him, gave her faith completely,
Unto a man who was a destroyer of hearts and worlds.
In that evil, wolf in sheep's clothing, she trusted. (She desired to sheer the sheep, He desired to consume the sheep, what is eaten produces no wool for her, what is sheered produces no meat for him.)
