This is definatly worthy of continuing. the mystery of the ancient text is engaging, and the characters seem to be developing well. Perhaps you could tie in some of the other stories? (ie. Life I gave for you?)

I can't say I'm experienced in what a publisher wants, but I know some things. I think you should make it longer, with more detail. I know WHAT they're doing, but not why. And if you're going to have the Pharaoh have a scret, don't have anything from his point of veiw, 'cause it can spoil your scret.
