ImaginaryxWords 2009-09-27 . chapter 1Wow...this was THE most incredible story I've read on this site...ever. I love anything that has to do with the Holocaust and you really captured it. It was almost as if you were writing from first hand experience. Amazing. It was so heartbreaking and beautiful. I was literally almost in tears at the end. |
lrigD 2009-08-03 . chapter 1Wow, this is good. Really good. Quite accurate, for as far as I can know. You're a good writer. |
Pegasus Rider 2009-04-16 . chapter 1This is great! Please keep writing! I am new to this website, I joined a while ago, but forgot, and so I don't know much. |
Carus 2008-07-16 . chapter 1This was amazing. Have you ever seen "Schindler's list"? If you haven't, I recommend it, it's a very sad film about the holocaust. |
Salima Master of Darkness 2008-03-20 . chapter 1How is it that we can call ourselves human after all the horrible things we can do and do to one another. Ever powerful story. See 'Schindler's List' it is a very powerful movie. Nice job.

Alice 2007-08-23 . chapter 1 Wow. This is very powerful. The turns of phrase that you've used here are beautiful: stark, evocative, and heartbreaking. |
HJWynne 2007-03-31 . chapter 1This story is far too good to only have six reviews, but I really don't know what to say other than, "Wow." I'm very interested in the Holocaust, and this story was amazing. Just plain amazing.

redzorin 2007-01-30 . chapter 1A very heart wrenching story. |
Lost in the Funhouse 2007-01-28 . chapter 1I liked this story because it showed the youth and innocence in a less-than situation. The hinting at Jakub dying without mentioning the word is a powerful example, one that jumped out the most.
I liked the beginning, the "prologue-esque," especially since the million numbers were repeated throughout the story and really helped to unify the first few paragraphs with everything else. Very nice piece, well done. |
 Bloodflower 2006-10-29 . chapter 1You know what?
This is a story that makes me revoke what I said in that forum post about the Holocaust.
Powerful. Well done. |
hoowdoideletethisaccount 2006-03-11 . chapter 1-Do you hear me, Channah? I am that doll she carries, whose bright red lips have long since faded from its face.-
-I am already dead-
This is a very disturbing and powerful portrayal of a horrific period in history. Have you ever watched "The Pianist"? That was part of the inspiration for my "Born the Last Song..." story. Very, very sad film, but so valuable in so many ways.
I can remember watching "The Hiding Place" when I was just a little girl. Ever since then, I have always taken every chance to learn more about the Holocaust. Why? Because I don't think people should ever forget something like that. I think human suffering should never be ignored or brushed over, no matter how long ago it happened. Yes--it still matters. It still matters so, so much.
You did an excellent job with the imagery, emotion, depth, and history of this piece. I felt it to the bone. |
Sophie Ulquiorra Allen 2006-03-01 . chapter 1Heart-wrenching. I love your pure description and also the bluntness you put into your writing. It makes it seem so real. It was wonderful to have read this. |
Lord-of-Fools 2005-10-18 . chapter 1That is the saddest thing I have ever read.
Aside from a few grammatical errors, that is the most beautiful, poetic and honest Holocaust story I have found on this site.
I'm not often a tearful person, but I am crying now. You've done a wonderful job, and this isn't a generic Holocaust story either. You've managed to tell a story that has been told many times over in a new way. You've shown the true tragedy of this horrific event.
Very, very, very well done. |
