Tanookie 2008-06-27 . chapter 1Amazing. The only complaint I have is the German. While it lends to the authenticity of the tale, it does prevent some of the horror of the story from shining through. But still, awesome job. |
 Redink111 2008-05-02 . chapter 1Very clever, very dark. (: Enjoyable! |
JD Kennedy 2005-01-18 . chapter 1A nice twisted version of a fairytale, perhaps you should do more? The german can be offputting to people who don't know the language, but either way it's a nice touch. There is something sinister about the grey dirge of post WWII Berlin, something which you've picked up on, kudos to you eh,~ JD |
MrFlames 2005-01-07 . chapter 1Hmm. It's hard to maintain my concentration as a lazy reader when every other word is in German. Nice attempt, but if you're going for twisted renditions of fairytales, it might not be a good idea to throw your audience for a loop with a bunch of words they don't know. Then they're not disturbed or scared, they're just confused. |
Love and Shadow 2005-01-01 . chapter 1This particular story is well-written. I was just wondering what happened to the girl's grandma..I DO wish I had a german friend with me..good work, twist some more classic fairy tales! ^_^ |
industrial 2004-12-29 . chapter 1I loved this, especially the ending. This is definately going on my favourites. |
Spinner Mistress 2004-12-27 . chapter 1I'm adding this to my favorite stories :) You're German's better than you give yourself credit for, but Little Red Riding Hood is called "Rotkäpchen" in German (just a little nitpicking! Sorry! Bad habit! It might not even be spelled right...) |
random reader 2004-12-26 . chapter 1 Good story. I read something similar in a kids history book. My German is really bad, but I got some of it. Yay! Anyway, good work on this. |
Love Kills Slowly 2004-12-26 . chapter 1Lovely story. Very well-written. I'm from a German family, but I cannot speak German. Before my Grandmother passed away, which was four years ago, I was very young, so she couldn't teach me any German. My family is in the process of teaching me German, which is nice, so hopefully I'll be able to read your story soon. Heehee. Anyway, nice job. ~Amanda |
Skysong Dragon 2004-12-26 . chapter 1You're a lovely writer. I always appreciate those who can take old stories and change them to be just a little different. Little Red Riding Hood I believe is actually French in origin and the moral is "If you lose your virginity, then your grandmother will die." Sorry, I have an inate interest in fairy tales. The only part I have an issue with in this story is the beginning paragraph, which contradicts itself.~Skysong~ |
 CW-nerd-12 2004-12-25 . chapter 1Hm, curious. Wish I spoke German... |
