The thing that most catches my attention in this poem is the imagery (as a former reviewer said). "...subject to the rape and pillage of flies" has to be my favorite line.

This is a beautiful poem. I had to read through it a few times before I understand it completely, because I think it has a much deeper meaning than what comes immediately to mind. I especially like the idea of "repaying my debt to the moon." Excellent work.

Wow - details! This poem is quite exquisite. "Like my smudged black-whorls" - The imagery is beautiful.
