 scudcrow 2005-01-03 . chapter 1A deprived soul; it's like denying a dying man his last peck of water or an asthmatic air. Funny I should mention this, but Mr. Hughes (disntinguished as he was and daringly independent for his time--he established his identity independant of both color and creed) reasoned that he subconciously wanted to write as a white writer. I believed this was one his punch-lines from an essay, 'we would or who would surrender racial pride in the name of a false integration'. Brilliantly formulated CC! |
