| stonervilleusa76 2006-08-30 ch 1, | abuseFinally i find someone with sense!! (no offence to anyone else.) I am the only person in my entire school who believes the way i do. I am often told to not express my views and am on the recieving end of many harsh remarks. Anyway, great poem! |
| Sulla Evans 2005-10-04 ch 1, | abuseYou would might also like to add how people will try to bash Bush becuase he doesn't hand out condoms, groups of people believe he is the cause of AIDs becuase he doesn't hand out condoms...what a pity. Or also how people claim he starves our soldiers just becuase they don't have a five star french meals everyday. Or even the people who believe we get the greatest amount of our oil from Iraq, when in fact the greatest amount comes from Veniswala. Or even the time I went to an anti bush rally to see the bouncing souls (long story, but I am pro bush, as I said, LONG story) and I would see signs that said, "Bush is brainwashing our children," then to my right I would see a large group of children, none older than eight, holding up anti-bush signs. This is a pity, what our country has become, I remember reading about times where our citizens didn't complain when they had rations, but now, just becuase a few bands complains, you have a good amount of teens pretending they know what they're talking about, and don't even get me started about the adults. Through and through, I admire you my dear friendly writer, I hope for more writing, it'll give me hope for humanity. |
| Proud to be an American 2005-05-20 ch 1, | abuseyeah, I know how you feel--I'm from Rhode Island. I LOVE the place, but I mean...I'm a Republican in a state of Democrats. Even my dad is a Democrat!! And as for conservatives not respecting diversity, they haven't met me yet, I love other cultures and languages etc. People have no idea what they are talking about. Awesome poem, it expresses a lot of feeling. ~*Toni*~ |
| HummerLover48 2005-04-15 ch 1, | abuseI'm srry you get so much flak for being a repub. What works for me is i try to make it seem like i listent to both sides and understand were they are coming from. I dont argue I simply state my opinion if asked. Just be cool about it. If yuo act out to much like ur all that, its not good. great poemLyss |
| Telephonic 2005-02-23 ch 1, | abuseThe poem was free style and thats fine. I just found it a little boring. I think you conservatives owe it to yourselves to diversifye a little. Instead of always complaining about liberals you could say something a little more positive about your own party. Your choice of words "You who would slay the child on an altar rather than the lamb" were really strong (Which is good) though you make it sound as if Liberals view "slaying children" as good sport and not the important decision- that all women should have a right to make- that it is. |
| XantheXanthias 2005-02-09 ch 1, | abuseI love the way this poem flows. You have a real way with words and sentence constructions. And I also agree with you 100%! Check out some of my stuff if you have some free time...altho it's been a while since i actually posted anything!~XanthXanthias |
| greenbanana 2005-01-11 ch 1, | abuseI liked the part about slaying the child rather than lamb.. and it flowed very well. I'm total liberal, but what bothers me about ym comrades is how they calim to be open-minded because they aren't open to the rednecks... but the reaosn they say rednecks are closed-minded is because elephants try to keep other people from living their lives, while dems would just let everyone live the way they want to.,. sorry, I'm rambling. nice poem tho. |
| PoliticsMan101 2005-01-09 ch 1, | abuseThat was very well put peice of poetry. I am a Republican but I'm sorry I just do not like Bush at all. Your poem was well written and well thought out, I have to give you credit there, but I'm sorry to disagree with you! |
| alligater20 2005-01-09 ch 1, | abusethis is very well put, and although some people might say it is too general, i dont know how you can avoid being general in a situtaion like this. i always think that anger and sadness have fueled some of the best poetry in history, and this not only proves my theory right but makes me a stronger republican since i was bombarded with similiar accusations and angry, pointless arguments at my school. i know where youre coming from, so keep up the excellent work! :) |
| Fenriswolf 2005-01-08 ch 1, | abuseInteresting. Well-written. Grossly generalized (I'm one of those evil liberals, so bear with me,) but well-written. It seems to me that the exact same words can be used to attack the religious right. Just my impression; you don't have to agree. |
| She-Loves-Someone 2005-01-06 ch 1, | abuseAlthough I do not agree with your reviews, I enjoy this poem. I am afraid that I would be one of your 'throught surfers', though. But at my school, you would be in heaven. I am resisting informing you about my beleifs, but I'd be an incridible hypocrit if I did. This was flowing and very well written. Keep up the good work! |
| Blu Bird 2005-01-06 ch 1, | abusewow...ok...I feel like I just hopped in a turd...not to say that your writing is litterally a piece (ahem)manure, but more that...you shouldn't automatically criticize my work because you believe I'm against republicans...for your information...I love bush and am an avid Republican I even take part in campaigns...before you go critcizing that I don't like bush, and that he's the object of my hatred...for your information bush is not even close to the reason for my poem...does the name "Scott Peterson" ring a bell? if so...he's one of the reasons I wrote the poem...after all he used to live in my town...so yeah...I guess I'm sick of America in general...but nevertheless I respect your opinion, and thank you for your reviews...your writing is wonderful, and I hope you can keep writing...you seem to have a knack for it...thnx. |
| EternalSummer 2005-01-06 ch 1, anon. | abuseHello, skinner49. You can say whatever you want about my writing, but I am extremely offended by the fact that you would accuse me of plagurizing. I have heard about two songs by Bob Dylan in my lifetime. I dislike him intensely. If these are indeed lyrics in his one of his songs, I had no idea, for I had never heard them before. I came up with the words on my own, thank you very much. I don't know how your accusation could be meant in a positive way, but it would be nice if you would appologize (not that I expect you to. By the way, my anger is not directed towards the beliefs of most liberals, and I certaintly don't hate them. (All but one of my closest friends are democrats.) I am angry at their hypocracy and the fact that many times they will not tolerate any of my viewpoints and engage in a civil debate. |
| skinner49 2005-01-06 ch 1, | abusecongragulations, girl. you have succeeded in the regurgitation of republican stand point in one simple sentence in ur reveiw. >:0! (oh, don't come back if ur trying to find somebody to argue with, cause i don't feel like it anymore... :P) having said that, i'll say this about ur work: (don't worry, i'll try to be nice.)your poem seems uneven in form, which isn't necissarily a bad thing. the second to last stanza, perhaps you can add a couple more lines to create more of an imagery of (what i thought) anger at the beliefs of liberals (or not)? or perhaps you thought u've already made ur point and had to angerly jab at one more thing- and if that's true, leave it out."How long will I drink your poisonBefore I spit it in your face?"i almost thought u stole that from a bob dylan (the most influential lyrcists ever to live in rock history, according to most critics) song. don't worry, i meant it in a positive way. |
| Mandy 2005-01-05 ch 1, anon. | abuseI think that you're poem is wonderful! I'm a republican as well. But the only thing I don't agree with is how you care more about babies than animals. I'm not for abortion AT ALL, but I love animals more than I do humans. Why can't we just live in happiness and NOT KILL EACH OTHER!? |
