annushka 2008-11-16 . chapter 21 Hopefully you'll be inspired again to continue this story in the future because it's very good... and sadly unfinished. So I'll hope for some update in the future ^^ |
Superior Saturday 2008-10-29 . chapter 21What?! It's over? There's nothing more? There must be some mistake! There aren't anymore chapters? Are you sure? Why isn't the darn button there!? WHY!! TT_TT
Well, now that that's out of my system, I have to say I have thoroughly enjoyed this fic, and it saddens me that I wasn't able to find it sooner. You are an amazing author, Sandy, and I hope that I can measure up to at least half of your amazing brilliance, for even that is a startling amount of wordy goodness! Lol. But, anyway, this fic is AMAZING! I can't wait for the next chapter, if you haven't figured that out by now.
I really like your writing style, and that was what made this fic the most enjoyable one I've ever read. The storyline and plot is extremely intriguing, and the personalities of Derry and Galvyn are ones that are always leaving you wondering as to why they would do this or how they would react to something.
I was saddened in this last chapter when Derry took the collar off of Galvyn. I found the collar a symbol for Galvyn's character, simple but elegant. It would hearten me greatly if Galvyn would ask for Derry to put the collar back on, just for symbolic purposes. Although, don't just do it for me. If it messes up your original plot, just ignore my annoying bantering.
I really enjoyed this fic, and can't wait until the next chapter!
A really excited reviewer,

frolic-horror 2008-03-25 . chapter 21I'm glad you didn't make Merril a eunuch (though I was expecting it) because it would have been much too pitiful. Should I hope you will write more? It was getting really interesting... |
frolic-horror 2008-03-25 . chapter 19Arousing Derry to use him as a night lamp... that's precious... I laughed so hard... |

Pyreflei 2007-04-11 . chapter 10Methinks that you've read some of the novels by a certain Mercedes Lackey involving the Tayledras to some extent. If you haven't, you should. Your writing very much mirrors hers, in a way, especially with the culture and mannerisms of the Sidhe.(Suggestions include Owlsight, Owlflight, Owlnight, Magic's Pawn, Magic's Promise, and Magic's Price. Bet you can guess she likes trilogies and can tell which ones belong to which...)
I LOVE this! Derry's an absolute idiot sometimes when it comes to Galvyn, and it draws a strong interest. You really have a wonderful story going here, and I hope the rest of your writing is just as good.
I understand how difficult it is to come up with a culture and language, though. In my own original story, I have one called Khitier. (Pronounced kih-tier.) It took me three years to get the basics lined up for the culture alone; I'm still working on the language, mostly as I go.
So kudos to you, you're one of the only other writers I've seen who has the gusto and willpower to create something anew.

the sacred night 2007-02-17 . chapter 21Aw, I guess you never finished this one, either. It maketh me sad, I wanted to know what the rest would be. Also, I rather liked Merril. I'm surprised he even had to ask Galvyn to buy him, what with his own past circumstances and Derry's recent actions to convince him Derry wouldn't mind it and all. I figured either Galvyn would do it or he'd wait and tell Derry and Derry would do it. I guess I shall never know the end of the matter. |
the sacred night 2007-02-17 . chapter 20Aw, major points from Galvyn for backing out like that. He was warned, and in fact he had to convince Derry to take him, so he can't really accuse Derry of thoughtlessness there. I think it's the freeing that has really got him so out of sorts, but leaving isn't going to help that. I'm very disappointed in him. |
the sacred night 2007-02-17 . chapter 18Oh, I forgot Devnet was a centaur. I was picturing her with two legs this whole time.
I'm looking forward to seeing the unseelie court; I've been curious about it for pretty much forever, as long as I've been reading your work anyway. |
the sacred night 2007-02-17 . chapter 17I notice you said in your reply to someone that you're afraid people will be annoyed when a character changes. I personally see no point in a story where no one changes.
I'm surprised they're so scared. Maybe it's just because I met Lin first and liked him so much that I couldn't dislike the unseelie in general, but I must say I'm really hoping they end up eating their words on the subject. |
the sacred night 2007-02-17 . chapter 16Actually I think Galvyn's been pretty bold all along. His first night comes to mind, and actually I think it was pretty bold how he refused to accept food from them when they first took him. You might say that was fear, but I think it was more reverence for how he was raised, and it was bold not to let fear of them or their possible reaction outweigh that.
I'm also getting attached to Amon and Conn. They're cute, I think, especially with Amon being so shy (and so dense... when he had that dream, his amazement upon waking was for the *book* and not the naked elf man!) and it's generally very sweet. |
