Very good, it builds up the suspense well, I was sure the wolf would be killed. Aww, the end is so lovely :)

Beautiful. You have mixed exactly the right amount of dialogue, action, and description in this tale. But you didn't need the detail about the community being willing to compensate for killed livestock - both Rick's character and your storyline would be stronger if his ojbection to killing were solely because of compassion for the wolf and other animals. Although, that's a nitpick. Anyway, I will read any more that you have up or will post up.
