I never mentioned having a fictionpress account because I don't think I'm any good and was reluctant to encourage people to see it, but I am glad you found it anyway! You guys always have helpful reviews, and actual constructive criticism. Anywho, this poem is great, I really like the metaphors as well. My only suggestion is that you make some sort of transition in the middle, instead of going from intensely happy to the labors of lost love in one line. Heh, like Loves Labours Lost. Sorry, I'm a Shakespeare buff. And very easily distracted. The line 'slush sleeps on our path' is really good, it evokes a very dreary, hopeless feeling, and is placed perfectly in the poem. But yah, great choice of words and really good overall.
