Cadraver 2005-04-05 . chapter 1Perhaps one of the reasons why them preteen fluffy stories -as you would call them- get more reviews is that they don't really get into depth and plot. Its easier to review them because they just don't come up to a good standard, something where people can lay back and say out, "That was a good read."
Its a lot harder to talk about a good piece of work, and a number of people would end up saying, "That's nice" or "Good work. I want to read more." In the end, what a writer wants is not a large amount of reviewers saying "Wow" but a number of them critically looking through your work, analyzing and such.
You get more reviews than I do, anyway. |
The Celtzster 2005-02-22 . chapter 1As I stare at some of the stories I was like hey, I was kind of lucky to at least get a person to review too. I started this story maybe when and it's been through changes and when people read that are ignorant and stupid and their like why are you so depressed I want to kill them. You pour your heart through your stories. If the writer is young (like me for example) sometimes the best Highschool dramas are written by the people who go through them everyday. Some of the best teenage stories are written by teens themselves but they just get published later on in life. Sometimes, you can see the person through their character. All this anger my character Destiny has is stored up really and she's so confused about life but she uses humor to cover up her real state. Just an example (hint hint) I just came here and posted my 1st story. I mean I had Lord Of The Rings fanfiction, I quit that on other reasons but mostly it seemed like all these stupid, preteenage fluffy stories were getting all the reviews and the work that reflected Tolkien (the author) the most or the work that was original and serious by aspiring writers were just never reviewed. That used to make me so angry.I just quit. In the end I just found it wasn't right for me but I was inspired. I saw all these stories and I was like wow. Some of these people are getting reviews from like a hundred people per chapter on their first story. I tried, and I ended up with four reviews while these dumb stories were catching maybe ten or eleven (plus the flames -))
That was good imo (in my opinion) That you vented through work. Pretty unique way eventhough I vent through work I could write a poem worth less than carp lol. I suck at poems but I write stories. Drama. This is the first time I've written a Drama/Humor gene but I was inspired by a book called "Speak" It's really good. Read it some time.
Wow, where did I get that-nevermind okay ponit was- don't give up. I now the start of some things suck and sometimes the feedback you need you don't get but just hang in there, I'll review when I get a chance (I did just come here after all) and ask yourself am I living up to my standards? If so, be cool. Try w.vaffel.com (yea its mostly Backstreet Boy fiction but Ive seen some original works get people worked up and Im gonna post there anywayz so free introduction lol) w.absolutechaos.net(not alot to say on this. Just try and see. This site goes through ups and downs. I think right now they're happy so you may end up with four reviews the first post.-) |
justme 2005-02-22 . chapter 1 I have been where you are. I gave up on writting because of it. I wouldn't suggest doing the same. It only breeds resentment and anger. I haven't read any of your stories since last night was my first visit to this fiction website. I say if it makes you happy or makes you feel in some way exressed and complete, then write, no matter who hears or reads. In short...write for you as the only audience. Then if someone says something be happy that they said something nice. Try not to expect it, I have talked to others that have had the same troubles with reviews. It isn't uncommon. |
The System Mother 2005-02-22 . chapter 1Oh you poor dear. A very strong little work you have here. Patience is just something you'll have to grasp. ^_^ |
