I like this because it's a decidedly human perspective, not watered-down idealized like so much poetry is.

This is beautifully writtin. I, too, have trouble forgiving people who have hurt me before. But it's always worth a shot. The emotion you put into this is powerful and moving. You're a very accomplished writer. Well done.
