SHOCK HORROR CHICKEN HOW DID I MISS THIS?!

*cries* You're such a great poet, and I like this one because it's kinda dark, and also has deeper meaning, and I can..well, it just relates to me a lot.

I don't think (all though I could be wrong.) That I've seen a poem on this subject before. This is really very good. I don't like gossip my self and I thought you wrote about this well.

When people ask me to review their work, I usually don’t look forward to it. But this was a truly enjoyable read. I can’t believe you didn’t want to submit this!

Stark and arresting are two words I would use to describe this. I like the format you’ve chosen. The short, almost choppy narration makes this read like you are listening to someone’s thoughts. The tone, however, makes it seem not so much like the woman’s thoughts but one of those cruel condescending voices everyone seems to have.

Now, down to the details. You had me from the first line; it caught me immediately. The inner debate and denial used throughout the poem are powerful. I particularly liked that she stumbled as she left. The trip up reflected the hesitant, hidden longing that she seemed to have. Very clever and very effective. I also liked the way you end lines with phrases like, “not really,” “that’s all,” and “it doesn’t really matter” because it gave me the impression she was trying very hard to convince herself.

The only real criticism I have is just to point out that in the second to last line, I think you meant walking instead of just walk. Keep up the great work! If I get around to it later, I’ll try to review more of your work.
