Thank you. However, you may want to include that people who wear all black are not necessarily goth, nor are people who listen to metal,as is a common misconception. Nor do you have to be 'all goth' I know of many people who are combonations of many stereotypes, myself included
once again, thank you

I love you.

I love you I love you I love you.

The point has been driven home. Why. Can't. I. Be. You. Thank you. [insert hand symbol for heart here]

Interesting essay. I really like the information you gave on the term "Goth". I can tell you did your research.

I found two things spelling/grammar(typo)-wise. "Alot" should be "a lot". Second, you wrote: "Marylin Manson" and it's actually spelt "Marilyn Manson", but it's a common misconception.

YES. Amen. I applaud you!! I know what is up with all these Emo and Goth kids these days not knowing who the real 'goth' or 'emo' bands really are. Hello people listen to Sisters of Mercy and The Hated and Rites of Spring.. Ugh, stupid kids.

Wow this was very good, to the point and not defending. It was simply providing facts in a simple way and sensibly eliminating stereotypes. Good job.

Very nice essay. You made some very nice points and did a wonderful job of shining light on what the word "Goth" actually means.

"So many 'Goth kids', when they grow up and get out of high school and grow out of teenage angst turn into that exact person they would constantly mock and hate when they were in high school."

who doesn't?

"Contrary to popular belief, wearing all black does not make a person a Goth."

dammit!

"Red, blue, purple and white are the most common colors, though it is not unheard of to see a Goth in pink."

what about magenta and ochre?

"'People are people, not labels. By labeling a person you restrict their potent ional.'"

that's a bad typo. and you just spent an entire essay setting up the rules for a particular "label". shouldn't you end with something that supports your point?

Very well put. I get very annoyed when someone fakes depression and is just so freaking annoying. I've been called a poser because I love exploring everything, and I always try to explain to some of my more logical friends that no one can be completely happy because in the back of your head, your sad about something. Yet I'm fun, I get depressed easily, I listen to varieties of music, I don't wear black all the time, and I don't believe in God. This qaulifies as a poser at my school, and I'm one of the few who is called a 'Goth' because of this, and because I don't mind not being like everybody else. Funny how that is, isn't it?

It was fine until I got to the word "alot". A lot. A lot. A. Lot. They're two seperate words. Thank you.

I always wanted to have sympathy toward goths, but never really encountered one that I felt was true. As in, until reading this, I couldn't accurately define goth, but I could define the pseudo-goths. I'm glad you distinguished the two. Nonetheless, there are many posers to sift through if the ideals of goths are to be universally distinguishable.
