is there a sequel? if there isn't, you really should write one. this was cool. and that is compounded by the fact my older brother even read this himself. he asked me for the url. lol. that is an accomplishment

the proteans are a really unique group...at least they like green.

I like this beginning a lot. The plot and the world you've created are unique and i love the description of the proteans. However, I think this first chapter is written a little simplistically...either that, or the sentences are too abrupt and short. Maybe you could combine some of the sentences or something to make it sound a little less simple? Hmm... hopefully you got that. Anyway, I know this is only the Prologue and only the beginning. You've got a good base here. Good job! :)

you aren't too specific about what exactly the proteans are or what they look like...i'm assuming they look like humans but i'm not too sure however that's the impression i got from Ty...maybe you are going to explain it later in the story but i thought i would say something now...
