Reviews For: End Racism Now
Apollyion 2006-12-20 . chapter 1
I'll be the odd man out here. Bieng a so called "minority" here I beg to differ. Hate to say it but in many ways whites are getting their just deserts here. I take the old addage "Eye for an eye" very seriously and I don't think there could be a better application in this instance. Think about it, for the better part of six hundred years, white Europeans have tortured, suppressed, enslaved and humiliated just about every other race out there. One could even say that whites invented modern day racism. Whites have never paid for these crimes and now want to suddenly cry out "Let's stop the hate" when that very hate is now bieng directed towards them. Kind of oppurtunistic and selfish if you ask me. I'm a firm believer in racial harmony, but only after some justice is meted out.

Contrary to popular belief, actually all asians are black belts. I say contrary to popular belief because popular belief is that everyone else believes that everyone else believes that Asians are black belts. So i'm just clarifying. I myself am an eight dan. I know you're thinking, this guy isn't asian, what is he, making fun of me? You're thinking that because my grammar is passable. Seriously, what exactly does this add to people's understanding of "why we shouldn't be racist". I know your teacher told you every bit counts, but slapping people about the face with tired points doesn't change anyone's views. I recommend you stop assuming everyone else is an idiot, you tortured soul you, and start treating your readers and the world at large as intelligent people, not 7 year olds who have never read an essay in their lives.

I agree 100 percent! This is really well written. I think racism is so disgusting and uneccessary.

I agree, especially about the 'reversed racism' part. I find it especially bizarre that black people often refer to each other as 'nigger' in such things as rap, R'n'B, etc. How does that work to eradicate racism at all?

HI!. I agree with you wholeheartly here. even though I've never heard of that pharse i'm sick of it myself.

take Saturday me and my family went to Manchester and there were a lot of asians around and all was ok until we got back to the car and my dad starts saying how much he hates muslims and my mum and brother add their two cent and then my dad says we hate muslims don't we? my mum and brother say yeah while I don't say anything.

don't get me wrong I have tried to get my point across before but it hasn't worked.

though my parent ain't so racist that they won't help a black or asian person if they were hurt my brother I'm not so sure of but i hope he's the same.

oh just one thing what do you mean by 'if you have racist parents or relatives don't take their views for granted'?

see ya

It's pitiful that there are so many people out there who don't see the sense in this. Of course I agree with you, because racism is evil. It's used to justify any number of depredations, whether at the hands of individuals, society, or the state. The same goes for sexism and homophobia, but that's a topic for another essay.
John Stein PhD 2005-04-03 . chapter 1
It seems a little unneeded to write an essay against racism as most people agree with you. You even did well the first few paragraphs, except then the essay goes on about things like minority scholarships.

"Children of immigrants, who don’t always have good paying jobs or the best English, do deserve scholarships if they do well in school."

If they're doing just as well as someone who has more money, then I'd say let them have the scholarship over the other applicant. But the fact that they're immigrants should never come into the equation.

"If you have racist parents or relatives, don’t take their views for granted."

This sentence makes no sense in context with the rest of your essay. It implies that these views are few and far between and should be, dare I say; cherished, rather than taken for granted.

"Not all black people are in gangs, not all Asians are black belts. Not all white people are uptight, most Latino’s are not violent, and not every Indian is an alcoholic."

It's clear that this essay took a great heap of thought on your part.

"Nobody is pre-determined to be a certain way just because of the color of his or her skin. It’s time to stop hating people just because of how they look. Anybody can be a hero, and anybody can be an ** regardless of race."

Thank you for the obvious.

Yep, I hate racism too. It's sickening. (Good essay).

This was wonderful. You did such a great job on this. It needs to stop thats the point. No one should have any bad thoughts about something just cauz their race. Great work here.
