Great story, with a nice pace; not too slow, not too fast. Would be nice to see some of the other characters a bit more soon - Tory, Nicole, etc. :-)

Nice start, though it would flow better if it was all in past tense - having said that, the dream itself (italics) can probably stay in present tense without trouble...

When she said that her family was half christian, did she mean to say that her dad isn't christian? is that why it's so hard to visit him or is it just the fact that sometimes he doesn't recognize her?

I like the exchanges between Sam, Ryan and Josh. But it seems a little too soon to be all buddy buddy already. I guess you could just say they clicked, but it doesn't seem realistic to me. Nice ending. Let me guess, she'll be the new singer? (she's too modest I take it)

It might make it easier to read if you put the dash on the other side of the im name so that you know where the beginning of the sentences start.
