So far I find this every bit as good as your other stories. Can't read much more at the moment, but I'll be back. Good job! I like it!

Yay, we meet some interesting new characters with which to be entertained. Now I cannot wait for some good stuff, some "outings" into London! Perhaps a runin with a certain Francis. I wonder if it was foreshadowing with the thoughts on the well-being of maids in service... Seems like it might be. Times like those were hard, esp. with a master who enjoyed a subservient woman... Anyway, good chapter. Can't wait for the next!

Great chapter. It was interesting to read about the train ride. For some reason I have this feeling Sammy and his mother will come back into the story later (possibly offering Brenda a job?), but I'm probably wrong. Update soon!

Oh dear, sister Margaret sounds like a bit of a tartar, I would not like to be in her company for long! That's why i feel sorry for Brenda in having to live with her! I look forward to reading more of this, and so eagarly await the next chapter!
