Reviews For: Titanic: An Understanding
Little Hobbit 2007-03-03 . chapter 1
What you wrote is so true, I agree with everything you said. People only think of Titanic as a blockbuster movie, or some attraction. It upsets me. I think the same way you do; if I see an artifact I wonder who it belonged to, who touched it last, what happened to that person. I've been interested in the Titanic since I was little, and it's always intrigued me and haunted me.
Thanks for posting this, very well done.

The thought of the Titantic does not haunt my dreams. Neither do I regard it as an annoying thing from the past. It is an artifact of course, to be treated as any other artifact; we must use it to its fullest extent in order to maximise our understanding of the time in which it was built, and it is not a sacred or holy thing to be protected from submarines or people. Don't dwell on the Titantic; there are bigger tragedies in the world today and those of previous months and years that we should be moralising about (if moralise we must).
