I don't know that I could criticize this piece. You've obviously placed much time and thought into it, and it is very profound and well-written. I can tell you are a very talented, passionate writer. Another gift that some just happen to be born with. Keep more coming - they're great! GB -- J.max

I can relate to this - I love playing piano, and I hear a lot of my friends talking about how they wish they were able to play, too. I agree with you. In most cases, if a person wishes to learn, they CAN learn. Like you so perfectly said, "It is true that you can not obtain talent, but perhaps you can earn it." VERY well said. I couldn't agree more! -- J.max

I thought that was quite a touching essay. Short but sweet. I play the piano myself, but unfortunately I wasn't one of those people mentioned who could make beautiful music without practise, though. I've been learning for five years but there are a lot more years of practising needed before I can play to a high standard.

I also agree with what you said about the best players not being able to play in public. I've seen it happen.

Well done, a well-written essay.

Yes, you're quite right. I have a friend who plays the piano very well. She doesn't even read notes or take lessons. That's real talent. But all of us can do our best if we practice and practice and give our best in what ever we do. Great piece this one! Keep writing!
