I have a soft spot for a lot of this story because I'm a Republican lesbian. The best part of it all was the self-analysis portion--however, I really disliked your over-use of the word "fuck" (I love cussing but not when it's too excessive) and I hated the ending.
I'd explain more, but it's almost three in the morning and I have to listen to my ritual music before going to bed. I'm going to hate myself in the morning.

I guess that says something about your story, though. It kept me up. Keep writing.

PS: I liked the shocking use of "faggot" and "dyke." Maybe some people find it offensive, but it was a nice touch for me.

Really, that last line almost made me fell off the chair, and by "line" y mean WORD! That's it? that's the END? mouthing like a fish, really.

I'd would reccommend that you re-read all your chapters and just correct the odd spelling mistake I saw here and there, as well as the odd layout error (putting a space right in the centre of a paragraph for example). Also, I liked the realisation of John's gayness very much, but it seemed to happen just a little too fast, if you understand what I mean?

But other than that: awesome!

Cute. John was exactly like every intelligent Republican I went to high school with. I was uncomfortable with the constant use of "faggot" and "lesbian" to refer to the characters; I think it undermined your point. John's referred to as "the Republican," but that's an identity he's chosen for himself; homosexuality is not a choice, and even though by being a part of the GSA these characters choose to broadcast their sexuality and make it into a sort of political identity, it's still feels demeaning to reduce them down to it. Not to mention, reclaimed word or not (and many of us would say it's not), "fag" is an incredibly loaded word and reading it over and over left a bad taste in my mouth. The ending's also a bit abrupt. That said, it was an interesting break from stereotype and I enjoyed reading it. Keep it up.

I don't agree with homophobia at all but John DOES make valid points concerning the shirt and fear of homosexuals.
I'd also like to point out that throughout the chapters I've read so far there's been quite a few spelling and wording errors.
Maybe you should read through it again to correct your mistakes or get a Beta.
