This is why I love randomly going through other people's favorites: You find just one story that jumps out and craves to be read. This was that one story and it was absolutely stunning. I loved the way you wrote it, the way the characters seemed so much more real than most other stories I've read here. I just know a story was written right when I empathize with all of the characters on a core level.

This is by far one of the best stories I've ever had the luck to read here on FP.

Hello! Just browsing around on lj, and I decided to go to your FictionPress and look around too! This summary seemed so sad.. and it just enticed me to read the story u__u.. the prologue was very sad as well..

I liked it... it was sad, but a great story at the same time. I began reading it months ago, but I enter a time of depression in my life and the story was too much for me. Now that I read it, I liked it and I hope you keep writing such wonderful things in the future.

This is one of the most incredibly moving stories I've ever read.

Part of that's because it isn't the traditional, emotional rollercoaster type story that normally has me in tears over the poor characters; it's got a kind of inevitability to it, that makes it almost serene in its sadness.

You know what's going to happen, right from the beginning, and you know that there's no other possible outcome, but you can't help not being almost in tears by the conclusion.

And the last line is sheer brilliance: "softly, solemnly, but with a certain sense of serenity" is exactly how I would sum up the way you've written the story.

I also find it nice that you haven't broken Darren: you can picture him grieving for a while - a very long while, actually - but moving on and continuing his life and making something of himself, so this relationship is an important part of his past, but doesn't define him.
