Hm... It reminds me of drugs. Most people who do them know it's going to kill them in the end, but no matter how many times they leave, they keep coming back for more. It's an addiction. What they want is the high.
That's what this story makes me think of. That's one messed-up relationship, huh? I feel sorry for the girl.
