ginandkerouac 2005-05-26 . chapter 1I've never been a big fan of sci-fi stuff outside of Resident Evil, but this really caught my eye. I love how you tell so much but at the same time don't give away any specifics, leaving me to wonder everything about the main character's past, his job, his lifestyle, etc. It definitely leaves a cliffhanger, but not one that is really ridiculous and unbelievable, much like a lot of stores I've read. Another thing I like is the pace of the story; you go right into the experiment that the main character is assigned to, but the process of finding out what the experiment entails is slow and realistic, and it creates this anxious tension that, again, makes me want to read on. And, lastly, I like the imagery and the language. I like that you described the building, it have a sense of foreshadowing of bad things coming up. I like the vocabulary you use, the technical stuff (The computer formalities, etc.)... it's really realistic for this type of story. I'll definitely be looking forward to more, if ever you decide to add on to this in the future. |
