Scraper 2005-06-12 . chapter 6Yay! OVDG is back! And Ogopogo, almost forgot about that dude (well, mabe because he wasn't as famous as Nessie)
But you sure made that insta-cyborg thing with Bellerophan... really quickly. You just raised him from the dead, and then suddenly slopped on some mecha gear and he's ready to go. Wouldn't such a delicate procedure require more time? And for a merging of flesh and machine, he would need some time to heal, otherwise the parts where he became a cyborg would either bleed him to death or kill him from infection.
Funny that Bellerophan would use such a word like "**". The other monsters seemed so polite in their conversations, even Smowg, who was rather mean to begin with. Too bad he would die again.
Nice though that the two villains, OVDG and Chimera Queen suddenly began fighting each other. But I feel that that battle should have more details. It felt too short.
Really funny with the dragon's gifts. I particularly like Smowg! He acts like a stubborn little brother!
Dude, they sure evolve here so quickly! Now Tyrantis looks like a dragon I suppose? Too bad he returned to normal. I Kinda liked that whole golden scales thing.
How old is Lerna by the way? He was only 20+ at the beginning and I kind of lost track of how many years have passed. And wheres JC in all of this? I sorta like him more than Lerna only because he's such a jerk. And I enjoy reading stuff about jerks! They're kinda interesting and add flavor to a story.
Nice ending by the way. Very consistent with the beginning. It started with Lerna, and it also ended with him. Whooh, Monster Island would sure be crowded by the time they got the whole sanctuary thing over with. There seems to be too many monsters for the world to handle! Our whales would be extinct with all of them to feed!
Aww, now it's over! Really nice, I enjoyed it immensely! But I guess there is more to come? Really looking forward to it! |
Scraper 2005-06-11 . chapter 5Oh... The Mokele Mbembe and the Yeti. Guess you like cryptids too! Are you going to add Nessie sometime soon?
Here are just a few flaws: "He was named Sasbaso by one of the other scientists in the museum for unknown reasons." Where in the world did the scientists come from? How did they know that there were new monsters mutating at that very moment, and how the hell were they able to dispatch their surveillance gear that quickly? And why didn't they try to catch the creatures before they developed fully? Surely by now they would have learned that you can't let ANOTHER destruction crazed monster loose to destroy the World! Or, since Vespa and the others don't seem to violent, perhaps they should have caught them ANYWAY and do some sort of "Getting Used to Being a Monster Program". I just noticed that your monsters seem WAY to comfortable with their new abilities.
Oh, and don't you think that the possibilities are too low for three monsters to mutate all at the same time? I mean, that would be like winning the lottery and then get hit by a meteor ten seconds after you get the check!
Very nice though that Vespa wasn't a queen. A majority of bees in a hive consists of females anyway, so you it would be more impossible than it already is if Quetzoalcoatyl's blood fell on a queen.
I'm also confused as to why Las Vegas would be the largest breeding grounds for humans. Sure, thats the place where people get hitched the fastest... But how high are their birth rates?
Oh yeah, heres something else: "the alien conqueror thought to himself with anger in his hearts." I'm guessing he has more than one hearts since he's an alien? ^_~
"shoved them into his mouth like a bunch of gummy bears,"-- I like this. Has a bit of dark humor... But I don't eat gummy bears by shoving them all in my mouth...
And here's that funky word again: "head-butted". I don't know but it really is some strange slang word!
I like what you did with the three: Mokele Mbembe, Yeti, and Kongamatu: They seem so violent and willing to eat stuff!
Really cute that Tyrantis and Kraydi brought them home! But it's strange that big creatures like Vespa, Drako, Chloris, and Sasbaso would suddenly dissappear like that. Perhaps the Aliens kidnapped them? |
Scraper 2005-06-06 . chapter 4Alright! Those dudes tearing down the Amazon forest got what they deserve. There should always be a dragon around to keep their slimy hands from the relentless destruction of our forests!!
And its wonderful that you added Quetzoalcoatyl, the great Aztec dragon God (and also a type of Pterasaur) And Leviathan is also here! (Like you mentioned in your review)
And I really like Smowg, he seems so... mean. For lack of a better word. But I don't seem to recall a "Smowg" anywhere. Perhaps you referenced "Smaug" from JRR Tolkien's "The Hobbit"? That's the only thing I can think of... I love that whole "glitter" thing by the way. They all crashed and died because gold and gems are falling on them, ha ha! And his powers to create precious materials out of regular Earth was really nice. Like a more benevolent version of "King Midas' Touch"
I really have no complaints for this chapter because I really loved this chapter. It also has a good bit of humor like this line: and the way Kraydi was so defensive when Smowg I dunno, "insulted" Dr. Lerna. And that "** off aura" Whoah, that sounds... bizarre.
I'm just a little confused though as to why Kraydi would reveal Lerna's general location. I mean, he's psychic! Surely he would have known what Smowg was planning to do?
AND YOU KILLED OFF KRAYDI! NO! It was a very noble death but why? WHY? Boo hoo, I'll be mourning over him tonight...
Oh wait I missed this, that last part said that Quetzoalcoatyl healed his wounds. Okay, I'm happy again! |
Scraper 2005-06-04 . chapter 3I forgot to mention in my previous reviews that in chapter one, that thing that happened to the Tyrantis corpse was pretty gross! He lost ALL of his extremities and then he suddenly grew new ones like those little house lizards I see creeping in my room? But the head was EXTREME. He still alive even AFTER the head was removed? Whoah!
And your heights are becoming more massive by the minute! In the previous chapter you mentioned that the Hydra was 800 meters long. You should be careful because if they get any bigger they would start floating off the planet! And there isn't enough prey for all of them. You should give them new adaptations or something like... photosynthesis! Then they can just take energy from the sun!
It's interesting how your ogres and that tyrantis monster act like zombies (You did mention the Zed word). Kind of like Godzilla meets Dawn of the Dead (I don't really like that movie, its so pointless. The only zombie movies I ever enjoyed was the two Resident Evil movies and that parody "Shaun of the Dead")
But I'm having trouble with all these Tyrantises (Is that the correct plural form?) I first thought it was mecha tyrantis who became a zombie but the mechatyrantis was actually still with JC? And what about Tyrantis brother, the other Tyrantis? They are all called Tyrantis!! Maybe you should name them or something because it's confusing.
Oh, and here's another thing I'd like to clear up. Why aren't there any females monsters? It seems to me like the whole bunch: Tyrantis, Kraydi, Spinalsaur, King Croc and the others are all male!
I like what you did with Kraydi's communication with the viruses. Very interesting. That was actually my favorite part.I also like Kraydi's relationship with Lerna. But I was wondering: won't you give Lerna a girlfriend or something? Just to give him a life outside the monster spectrum? Oh, and that part about Hydra leaving to join the other snakes was cute! I liked that.
Oh well, this was a LONG review! The longest I have ever given anybody. I really enjoyed this although there are a few confusing parts. Oh well, gotta go, after the storm yesterday the sun is now out and my siblings are calling me into the pool. Cya! |
Scraper 2005-06-04 . chapter 2This was good. I LOVE your Kraydi character! But he sort of lacks description. You only mentioned that he was yellow and is a dragon. Anything else I need to know about his appearance?
I really don't understand though why Lerna still works for J.C.! If I was him I would have quit and left! And really, why would JC wan't to control MechaTyrantis? I guess he just wanted to go: "Dude, that's one sweet ride, let's give it a spin."
Actually, I was wondering what exactly is J.C. role. You just mentioned that he "works for the government". But what exactly is he? Is he lead scientist of the monster making facility (you didnt mention the name of that place where they make the "projects"). Or is he an agent or what? He seems to have a few scientific bones in him since he is part of the brainstorming (suggested a robot to defeat Tyrantis) and you also mentioned that he "developed" the Omega Virus. |
Scraper 2005-06-02 . chapter 1Well, this was better than the original version, although like you said, it still needs a little tweak here and there.
Well, you mentioned the Lerna and JC's ages here and tyrantis exact height. That's... huge. The Blue Whale for example is about 90 to 100 feet long...
That name you gave him: tyrantis levianthus, also seems very befitting. I knew that you were bound to mention my beloved Leviathan, the great sea monster, and also (according to catholic folklore and the Solomon Grimoires) one of 70 or so commanders of hell.
But I was wondering about these two things:
1)Where did all those giant octopods come from?
2) What does "J.C." In Clark's name stand for?
Have fun writing! I'll read the next ** soon as I can, I have my own writing to do! ^_^
Cya! Jackie.
PS> My poem "The Three Triads" is accurate, and I had to double check some of it in the Bible. But I'm not so sure how accurate it is (there was this one person who said that she wasn't sure if it was accurate) so it's best you research a little about it too. |
