abuseswirl is definitely a word that comes to my mind whenever I see that painting. I liked best the dragon dance idea, and "the moon is like their beating drum". It would also be cool if you tied the horsey image in the first verse into the dragon dance idea that you make the rest of it into. There is a great sense of joy in the beauty of art in this poem. I like it! must go read more...

abuseI like this, when a painting or architecture speaks to you personally...I once had a teacher that said a master of art does just create art, he/she breathes life into the piece and it becomes something with a soul! He actually champions saving works that are in musuems that are "not being taking care of" - anyways, his theory I think is proven in your poem...the painting just spoke to you..."And they try to tell me something. And when I see that starry scene, I know I'm happy too (While still amidst the sorrow) - just beautiful

abuseoh. what unique, evocative imagery! your word-choice is astounding-- "great spirits of dust", "moon is like their beating drum"... a beautiful poem for a beautiful painting. nicely done.
