yes, which means that I will never be able to make a career in writing (too bad! I'll never give up! Muahahahaha!) As for poorly written fiction, can anyone say "Romance novels"? The closest thing I read in the genre is Kushiel's Dart, and Anne Rice. I tried to read one of my mom's Diana Palmer romances, and couldn't make it through the first chapter (it could just be because I'm biased). Sorry, I'm rambling! Great haikus!

I can hear the heralds singing. Hallelujah! I hear you. Oh, man, do I hear you. My friends read those trashy novels, gab about how great it was, and then when I pick them up to read, I have to set them down again almost as quickly because the writing is just so GODAWFUL. Perhaps there is still some hope for writing, but for now... we have to find what little solace we can with those authors that still stand out in this bland society. Great, wonderful, almighty haikus. Love them. Excellent work.

I hear you there brother... but I think the publics taste in decent literature changes with time. I thought this was a good piece though. You made a decent point, that many will agree with, and many writers, including myself, fall in this modern contemporary dribble leaving shakesphere, graves, and Dickens to the dogs. Bravo.
