forever in blue jeans 2005-06-14 . chapter 1Clutter and disorganization don't always run hand-in-hand. For instance, I hate clutter, yet I'm probably the most unorganized person in the world. I like it like that. I can't work any other way. To me, everything has a place, though it may seem odd to someone else.
Anyway, the writing is not bad but the random capitalized words are irritating. You should just italicize them if you feel they need emphasis-- even though many don't. |
onlyshallow 2005-06-13 . chapter 1i liked the beginning of this. it's interesting. ^__^
but actually, i'm a pack rat. i keep anything and everything i find. if i see a bracelet on the ground, i will pick it up, name it, and put it in my room somewhere. personally, i would rather have a messy room than a spotless one. messy rooms appear lived in to me. this is going to sound weird, but they have personality and character. the things that are in your living space are just as important as the design and the furniture.
and i know that i very much prefer looking through old boxes and remembering things. being able to hold baby toys and old school work in my hands gives me much more satisfaction than a spotless desk or carpet.
oh, but i agree with you on this: odor should *not* be an issue. ew. >_>
anyways, i'll stop babbling. i liked reading this. thank you for posting it. :D |
midsea 2005-06-13 . chapter 1heh, kind of sounds like an ad for living spaces.
I like this. It's true and to the point. It does seem like nagging but people need that.
" (Have you taken to performing the SNIFF test, YET?)"
Oh the harsh reality. I can't imagine someone doing that. That's..icky.. |
Frodo 2005-06-13 . chapter 1I will be the first to say that I'm a very disorganized person. Looking at my clothes scattered about my room enforces that. I think being organized a person's certain way (Some people can find things despite a mess because they're used to it.) is important. I don't think that everything should be thrown away if it doesn't have any financial value. I mean, I have a bunch of old notebooks, drawings, random papers, and stuff that I would never dream to throw away. While people say I'm a packrat, I really believe that having those things does allow me to remember things better that are important to me. I have a bad memory, and it's nice to go back and revamp it every once in awhile. So while we should try and be organized to create less problems and stress, I don't think we should just pitch everything that doesn't have any immediate use.
I think I get what you were saying in this, and there were some helpful tips, but I wasn't a big fan of all the capitalized words. -Micah |
dragonelemental 2005-06-13 . chapter 1dude... this sounds like a lecture. Like a nagging parent. Very enlightening but... people don't really like it when you whale on them for being messy. Some people like being messy. You should make sure your wife see's this... it'll get your point across. |
OneLastEndeavor 2005-06-13 . chapter 1interesting! very interesting! nice message, and i completely agree about people possessing things just for the sake of it. nice. good job. ~rr me. |
