This is a great hook. Its short (for those weak-attention spanned readers), it has strong internal conflict (for the in-depth readers), and it has mystery, vengeance, loss of love, and war. Well done.

This is a pretty good intro though I dont read many vampire stories myself... I'm not quite sure what a flaith is either but uh you'll probably explain it later (unless its just common vampire knowledge which I know nothing of).
