i would love to see this as part of a longer poem though, all about the sounds of nature. but it's great by itself too.

I am in awe with "clapping to liquid music." Juxtaposing "whisper" and "clapping" makes the rain feel powerful yet soft. Impressive.

This is great. It kind of reminds me of the sound of approaching rain, when you can hear it in the trees but it hasn't reached you yet, so it's the experience of just the sound without the rain. It's harder to listen to the rain when you can feel it.*^_^*byrdgirl
