 J-fr0 2005-09-04 . chapter 1i love this. i have a friend that's jewish and she read:
"In the tradition of the idealistic Jews, love is defined as “the emotional pleasure of identifying virtues in another person”.
and she said, "uh...really?"
that made me laugh XD, despite the seriousness of this essay |
WuXia Translator 2005-07-29 . chapter 1first of all, thank you for the review on my essay, Wisdom of the East.
For your essay, the only reason I can think of that this essay about love did not win is that in the first paragraph of so, the thesis wasn't stated clearly enough -- avoid roundabout explanations and examples right off the bat and stake your point using simple words. But other than that, I totally agree with the point you're trying to make. Good job! |
No Trust 2005-07-07 . chapter 1I disagree. Humans are pack animals, not hive animals. |
Madcow13 2005-07-06 . chapter 1Your writing wasn't lousy and I think this is an excellent piece of work. It is thought out and written with skill. Obviously I haven't seen the other entries but I feel this definitely should be a winner. I'm not Jewish myself and I feel this is quite a general read. So anyway, great work! |
Caffeine Productions 2005-07-06 . chapter 1Wow... No, I definitely can't say I disagree. This sounds like the truth. And I don't know why it didn't win. Your writing is great, and something with such originality had to have some high chance of winning. Never before did I see love from this point of view. |
