This all makes a lot of sense, except for the title. Why is it about a midnight train? (I'm really sorry: I have to admit that in choosing to read this I was partly attracted to it because I like trains.)

I like the rhythm of this. It has a sort of inevitability. Can I say that or does it sound too empty?

Final point - very poignant, very true. It's a complex realisation, the implication of the anonymity of the 'other woman': that she's only an idea in your head and so although she's a somewhat justified target, it is impossible to direct emotion at her.

But you put it so much better, of course.

Outstanding imagery. You've told enough of the story that we can all understand the emotion, without going into so much detail that we can't all relate. You've accomplished what I think all poets should strive for.

This flows very nicely. It is full of pent up emotion - despair, pain, helplessness, and many others. It strikes home to a place inside each of us that we try to keep hidden, but know all too well. It makes my breath catch...
