This looks promising! The plot is different, intense.

My only complaint is the obvious lack of adjectives; you have very little description about the environments because you focus mainly on the people and dialogue. Why don't you add some kind of 'ethereal mist' along with that mountain range or something...

All in all, good story! There's definite potential to this - keep writing!
