Hauntingly beautiful.. there's a distinct pained sound to it.. and the questioning lines you put in make it seem so real and human. Distressing, but still something to think about.

The last stanza was really a good closing piece to the whole.. and it really makes you thoughtful about the whole thing. Good work.

I think it is one of the saddest things humans have to bite on when we age...I like your topic.

My grandfather has alzheimers (forgive me if my spelling is off) and I think he'd be able to relate to this very well. If he even remembered he has the disease. Most of the time he thinks he's making bombs in WW2 anymore. Anyway, nice poem!
