This story is awesome so far. It's been moving very quickly, but sometimes that is a good thing. It's had enough of a balance between action and explanation to keep me entertained, though your sentences do tend to be confusing at times (some run-ons and repetitive words make it hard to read, tho I know many others have told you this already). I'll definitely keep reading, can't wait to see where this goes.

'Hajime Matsuko now realized that his name was not in fact Chal, though everything else was normal.' I don't quite get this: it just doesn't seemed to have been explained clearly enough.

These aegis' sound quite cool and Hajime's training seems interesting, what with all the 'shift's...

Andrade sounds really Portugese. What's a Portugese fellow doing in a Jap story? XD

The kamito-sant are the aegis huh? Thought they would be the bad guys, judging from your first chapter...good twist. And I thought that the aegis were the ones who attacked the dojo...so it was their enemies eh?

the build-up is interesting but I have some problems with the language you use at times...especially this sentence

'The fear that froze him peaked when the horse being hooked a foot behind Makasha’s in an all-to-human disarm and the master fell, his grounded recovery now blocked from sight by silver-blue shoulders flexing as the horned head struck down again and again and again.'

if I am not mistaken, the word that should be used is too instead of to, in all-too-human? And the word disarm doesn't seem quite appropriate here, maybe disarming or throw? And what do you mean by grounded recovery?

A good chapter but I find your language a little complicated at times; simple language could have perhaps been used to greater effect at times... other than that, I have no complaints. Will be reading more!

this is a fascianting chapter...i like the way you brought Japanese culture to fore here in the beginning, sets the atmosphere nicely for the rest of the story.

Sais...I thought that they were actually weapons of the ninjas or something... Do samurai also use sais? I know of the ceremonial fan, katana, stabbing sword, axe etc. etc. but never of the sai before... :)

Nice cliffhanger to the end of the chapter. The little girl's appearance was unexpected certainly...poses a nice question for the next chapters

A lot of useful information was revealed in this chapter but, like a true double edge sword, more questions arose also!

Who is 'she'? When will Hajime's aegis appear? Will the reason why Hajime was chosen ever be discovered and who will discover it? And, of course, the ever important, will Nagyr be appearing again soon? >.>
