It really captures the spirit of time, how everything seems to linger on and on but then we realize that we are "past the age for dreaming," that too much time has gone by. This poem impressed me. I like how everything seems to be moving (steps dispensing down the aisle, children running up and down, moving heedlessly onward...) just as time is moving. And like automatons, we go with the flow of time quietly until we suddenly realize that we didn't grab the chances we could have in the past since we were always thinking that there would BE more time to do those things.
