Maybe the word "cry" came up too many times, but then I realize that this is Gackt you're talking about and his voice makes me melt in my seat. Where did he get that voice? Love it, love it, love it.

I want to hear this Gackt song now; his voice is so pretty. I was listening to a band at B&N and the singer had a voice like Gackt's but in Spanish. Now I have to find that band-name again...

Oh yeah - went to see System of a Down - very cool - tell you more when I see you. (Also, the two opening bands were Bad Acid Trip and The Mars Volta, so if you want, you can check out their music; the first band, in my opinion, sucked, but the second was pretty cool; I thought the singer was a girl but it was a guy.)

First of all, I would like to thank you and give you a big hug for the concern you expressed in your last review of The Scarred Ones. I *have* kind of disappeared from FP--mainly because I've been focusing a great deal on my art... (never thought THAT would happen!)

Now. This. Is just. AMAZING. So many people think that pain is such a horribly bad thing, but it's better than feeling numb and dead inside... Beautiful job.

OK, when I read your summary for this I just had to pause and get out my CD player and listen to "Last Song" (ohgodohgodohgodohgodohgod Gackt's voice is the most amazing thing I have ever listened to) as I read. Wow. I think you captured that emotion perfectly, in your own way - that emotion when he suddenly BURSTS out so loudly and he bends double in pain but he's still singing and he's crying and the veins in his neck are straining to match his voice. Oh God. His voice makes me melt. You have no idea. His voice is the smoothest most sexiest most *painful* voice ever. And I love it when he croons softly, but I love it at least ten times better when he's screaming and pushing every single emotion out and just *pounding* the listener's ears with his pain. It's just so beautiful. I think that's what this piece is about, it's about that pain that he feels and that's just so ** beautiful it's not even funny. "I want to make sure my heart feels the pain" "I wail and I fall in love with the sound" "I just want to be completely and utterly numb" "I feel my heart pounding. And I love it even more." "I want to see it myself. I'll cry and I'll cry. Then I'll do it even louder. I do it till my ears can't take it anymore and I'm completely deaf." -> I think these sentences affected me the most. You can just feel *everything* in these sentences. You know that one part, the end of that song where he chokes out "Mou ichido tsuyoku dakishimete." Then he repeats it, and when he shouts "Mou ichido!" that just breaks my heart completely because he puts so much emotion into those words - and then I think, this is why she's so obsessed with the man. This is why. When I started reading, I knew the ending had to be the way you ended it. I absolutely *knew* the last word had to be "Alive." I just knew it, and you delivered. Otherwise, it would have ended on a hollow note, but that one word "Alive." says it *all*.
