please update soon
Natalie 2009-05-31 . chapter 1
I was sifting through stories about the Romanovs on this website and all of them looked trite and poorly written-until I saw yours. This is an absolutely wonderful story...you have quite a gift with words, and though it's been awhile since you've updated, I hope you'll continue it one day!
Clarelouise 2007-11-17 . chapter 1
a relatively short first chapter but i often find stories are easier to get into that way! the characters are very close to what i imagine the real people to be like, i'll reasd more later :)
thanks for the review!
The Wordsmith 2006-11-05 . chapter 20
o, Dmitri. What a sweetie, even if Tonya hates his guts. having just finished studying the russian revolution AND reading Dr. Zhivago, I'm even more interested to see where your parallel universe is going.

Please continue! This is without a doubt one of the best stories I've read here. Don't stop here- it's going well.

Awh! Dmitri shows affection! If only he knew he is not Olga's "Mitya." Still, it was a lovely scene and perhaps this incident will make them grow together even more. And I'm still loving your portrayal of Tatiana. Her character is right on the mark!

I hope the rest of the Romanovs play some part in later chapters, but if not, I'll still read on!
IX Carpe Diem XI 2006-08-13 . chapter 19
I love the title for this chapter! Poor Olga, to experience such sweet sorrow. Although doubtlessly sad, Olga will now have the ability to function as a Tsarina--her heir-bearing duty can come later, once Russia isn't so chaotic. BTW, this chapter was beautifully written!
IX Carpe Diem XI 2006-08-13 . chapter 18
I loved Tatiana's portrayal of Carol. He really is a dog. I'm sure she didn't mind much at all when Carol's fancy jumped from Olga to Marie. But to have to marry him...I've always thought Tatiana would have made a great Queen of England, being so stately and all. I could also easily picture Tatiana or Olga with Boris of Bulgaria.

Tatiana seems so strong in this chapter--I've always pictured her as a woman capable of handling herself. I think Queen Victoria would have been closest to her of all the Romanov grandchildren (and would have approved of her taking the throne Alix had passed up). But--AHH!--to marry Carol, so very cruel of Olga...
The Wordsmith 2006-07-28 . chapter 19
the emptiness inside is such a good title for this chapter, becuase it's literal as well as metaphorical. empty for love, and empty as in barren womb. And it was such a moving and descriptive chapter, too! Keep up the amazing work!

Poor Olga...but at the same time I think it is for the best. She is not ready to be a mother as well as a tsarina in the midst of a world war.

I feel for Tatiana as well. She obviously can't stand her betrothed. I hope everything will work out for this loyal sister.
Lord-of-Fools 2006-07-27 . chapter 19
Aww, poor Olga. :'(
Lord-of-Fools 2006-07-25 . chapter 18
I should probably post a proper review after this long, but my mind's numb so all I can say is... Scandal's a-brewing!
The Wordsmith 2006-07-25 . chapter 18
Can I smack him? No, really, can I? 'Cause he's being a total arse, if you catch my drift. unfit to govern indeed. An interesting interlude, to be certain- I await the next update eagerly!
The Wordsmith 2006-07-24 . chapter 17
So Olya was once in love with Federov, as is now married to Dmitri? Oh, my head. It's almost like Anna Karenina. "Not that Alexei, the other Alexei..." I'll never keep this straight. I liked the Tolstoy reference, by the way. Now, I'm submitting one review for two chapters (I did read both, never fear) but despite the unfavorable impression that must make, I am still enjoying reading this! Happy writing!
