whoa. amazing, but i don't like the sadness. Every child is, and always will be special... *holds firmly to this belief* at least i think that's what my parents mean when they tell me i'm special... anyways, liked everything, especially choice of words. Sorry for taking so long to review (feels like a bad reviewer) but y'know... swimming... my own private hell.

It's so sad! Gosh I'm sure everyone can relate to this... I feel so sad for us! *sighs* The first stanza was really real - I was yearning along with the child, and the sense of disappointment was really powerful. Love the casualness [is there a word?] you've put into this through the repeated "It’s like this" - it just emphasises the bitterness more. Great job!
