I loved this story (Hm...seem to be saying that about all your stuff that I read). I adore fluffy Michael & Paul, but it was a brilliant reminder of how real their relationship is- that it isn't some fairytale romance.

This is really weel written. i like how well your characters and the story are built through diologe, and actions, instead of just being explained. great chracter development.

Yay, more Michael/Paul! You really have been neglecting them, you know? Anyway, this was exactly what I needed today!

I love the first sentence of this, it shows what we're dealing with: A real relationship, not one like in TV-shows where the problems can be solved in 22 minutes.

And the fact that it's written by Lora and noone else shows itself in the part about Michael's metaphorical self and the crack in the ice - nobody, i repeat, NOBODY could write that sentence except you!

The scene with the two of them outside, fighting in the cold, and Paul's insecurities and the whole list of things he thinks are wrong about himself... Oh, I can't even begin to describe my love for that scene. It's crystal-clear in my head, thanks to your fantastic way of writing, and Paul, oh, Paul... The way he so quickly lists everything is calling out to all the tears in the world, and I completely understand how he feels! Poor thing, I can't imagine how it must be for him to hear Michael talk like that in his sleep.

The ending... knowing what it all ends makes it even more uncomfortable, but the last two paragraphs are worth a smile no matter what.

Michael and Paul are a real relationship, not just fluffy (though they are), not just angsty (though they are), not just kinky (though they are), they are every other relationship, they are everything, they are...

They are THE proof that gay relationships are absolutely true relationships - Michael and Paul are real.

Pete had tried, once, half-jokingly, and had come closer to what Michael felt than Michael could. “Michael ‘n’ me?” he’d laughed, slinging one arm around Michael’s shoulders, “We’re soul mates. We’re just the wrong gender, that’s all.”

I love this line. I can't even begin how to tell you how much... I think it's because it's exactly how Jen and I feel. The whole different types of soul mates you find in life. Love it.

And then, Miranda had come, offering Paul the chance he’d always yearned for and Michael the ability to have something he’d almost managed to forget wanting.

Wow. Just... Wow. It's that loss, the loss for a chance of family that I think hits some people the hardest... to hear it verbalized so beautifully was just wonderful, Lora. And it adds this fantastic depth, this insight, to Michael that I've never really considered before.

“I don’t think anyone knows why they love someone, do they? I bet you never expected to fall for a fussy, obsessive-compulsive, anal-retentive who folds everything and alphabetizes the canned goods.”

Michael. When it matters, the right thing is said... *sniffles*

And the sister thing? Comparing them? I loved it. LOVED IT!

Paul blushing about sex? New. Very new, but also very in character for the situation. Well done.

“I think we both need to learn how to argue more, ah, constructively.”

*nods* Those who love you most hurt you most... because they know the fastest way to your heart.

And the end. Lora... it was so perfect it actually made my heart ache. Because everything's not okay but it was so very Michael and Paul. Thank god I know that things turn out okay with them.

Heartbreakingly beautiful, darling.

Bravo.
